It's just that I detest the big piles of flowers and everything else that builds up anytime someone dies these days.

We used to be able to grieve without doing this, and I'm not sure why it's necessary to do this now.

There has been a great deal of love and respect shown for Macca over the last day, and it's been very touching, I'm not sure that a pile of flowers and shirts etc is necessary. It certainly won't make anyone miss him any less, or be any less thankful for the loyalty and service he showed the club.

as always i respect your take on this matter old boy.......its just a sad sad time for us all!

That only benefits Interflora and the like in my opinion. Grieving shouldn't be a competition.

    I agree with you.

No one wants an argument about this at such a sad time for the club but really, I just don't understand the point of phoning some company and paying them to leave some flowers outside the ground. What good does it do?

And then of course, the people who have done this need to post messages on the internet so that everyone knows what they've done.

Why not give the money to charity? What do you think the club will do with the flowers?

Sorry, I'm upset by the Macca news. Don't mean to offend.

its up to the person to grieve what way they feel. if people decide to put down flowers or a shirt etc they they should and fair play for making the effort. me-i don't even buy 'em for 'er in doors so i'm out!!

Agree with Bushcelt grieving is different with each person and the depth of loss
is dependant upon many things so please dont generalise, why do you have
to question those fans that want to pay a tribute by way of a message or post.????

Either that, or he has committed the crime of disagreeing with you.

If buying flowers and placing them at the ground is your way of grieving, fair play to you.

I'm not having a row about this, not the right place for it. Apologies again to all for bringing negativity into this.

I'm not comfortable with public displays of grief. My problem alone, absolutely, and in no way would I dream of stopping anyone from grieving how they want. How could I possibly?
