Potential starting line-ups for opening game vs Swansea?

Realistically I think it will be:

Mackie---Diakite--Ireland--Taarabt

Subs: Cerny, Nelsen, SWP, Derry, Faurlin, Johnson, Henrique



I don't think Faurlin will be fit enough to start, so I can see us signing Steven Ireland on a 1 year deal...as Faurlin will just stroll back into the side, and Ireland won't want to be at a team where he'll be on the bench every season. Oh yeah i think Green and Fabio will sign, along with Henrique who I think we'll go back in for. AJ on the bench to come on for either striker late on in the game, Nelsen is a similar player to Hill....Don't want them both playing as our centre defense will be as slow as sh#t...so Ferdinand/Onuoha in there.....

What do you lot think our starting lineup and subs will be vs the Swans? (Be Realistic!)

What you have there looks realistic enough to me. Need cover for right back, and I think Henrique is not longer on the table. If we sign Ireland it will be on a long-term deal though, most definitely. There might be a couple of signings still to come, I'm hoping Hughes will be looking to add some youth to the side in addition to the experience we've got - although I'm not holding my breath.

I think he will deffo add some youth to our side, he has done so at his past clubs, and nearly all of them have become top players in this league today

In fairness probably not. I read somehwere he is recovering rapidly and running on it, but, thinking about it, I doubt they would throw him into a PL game, even if he does play soem friendlies. Probably be eased in. Im going to nick somebody else's suggestion above and say Stephen Ireland will start CM for us, if he did that wouldnt half be a decent midfield IMO!
