For me, it's not just about the football team, but it's about my roots. I was born in St Andrews Hospital in Dollis Hill and grew up in Queens Park. Used to play football in the park as a kid and went to school round there. My first game at LR was the last home game of the season against Fulham when we got promoted. Off the top of my head it was 1972. After that the family moved to Stonebridge Park. I'm now living in Hertfordshire but I often find myself visiting Queens Park for a wander round. I've no idea why i do but it's like going home.
See, QPR is not just a football club to me, it's part of my roots and part of who I am. It's in my blood. Just the other week I found myself at Queens Park tube, had a wander up Kilburn Lane, then crossed the road and had a bite to eat in Sainsburys.
I was home.
Bit sentimental, bit sloppy, but just thought I'd share my feelings about our club and what it means to me, which is a damn sight more than being one of the cockney reds mob!

well many londoners lied about there age to join the army my father was one such chap
when he came home to good old shepards bush he found that the houses were very expensive
so we had to buy a house in fulham
after a stay in fulham like many othere we moved to suburbia
it was at this time that my dad hatched a great plan to get away from getting his ears chewed off
he told my mum that out of the kindnest of his heart he would take one of the kids out from under her feet
so he took me or my brother to qpr
my earliest memory was the car park at general smuts i was only four years of age and i used to get bought a packet of crisps and a glass of lemonade
i can remember the incredible colours of the jerseys and the vivid green grass
the first king of loftus road was lazarus, followed by marsh ,followed by bowles followed by ferdinand
Isent it a bit dangerous to visit Northolt, Ted?I just wonder.

Good post QPR Richard.
Like pretty much everyone on here QPR's in my blood too. My family are actually Chelsea fans but my dad changed that when he got a blue & white hooped shirt, not a QPR shirt just blue & white hoops & then he saw QPR play when he was young and supported them. The chances of that happening are so slim but he & I got lucky, he was also born in Fulham. So I could be a Chelsea or Fooolham fan very easy (What a horrible thought)
I also followed QPR when I was young because my dad got me into it. My first game was Ipswich at home & all I remember was buying the shirt at the clubshops & looking at the barrier that separates the pitch & the stands, how weird is that! But my first real memory of supporting QPR was the season we went up from league 1 with Ian Holloway (Maybe way of the mark but something like 2004 maybe? - And the first game I remember going to well was QPR vs Luton. 1 up, 2-1 down & then we won 3-2 with a Paul Furlong diving header 90thminute
I adore my football club alot and always check everything QPR when I go on my laptop & Tony Fernandes is a total god send for our club, he will take us to heights which are just un-thinkable

shania northolt isnt rough to visit if you wear a qpr shirt its only dangerous for people wearing a chelsea shirt
I used to go in the chippy opposite Kilburn police station on a Friday with the old man. Anyone remember it? On the corner of Brondesbury and Salusbury Road I think.
we should have a massive qpr following in willesden ,kilburn area but ive not met many qpr fans from these areas
kilburn is a chelsea area with a good few rangers fans thrown in.
