Lightbulb Robert Green set to sign for QPR

Robert Green is set to join QPR after agreeing a Ģ50,000-a-week deal to move across London. The England goalkeeper, 32, is a free agent after West Ham refused to meet his pay demands and failed to agree a new contract.

Would prefer Green to Given basically because he is younger. Decent Keeper and a definite step up from Paddy who was class last year but not quite up to the Prem this.

Green is a good keeper and better than Kenny. 50k isn't an ideal deal. But he's free I guess & you don't have to pay 4million odd for a proven PL goalie. Green has been in the Premier League and done well

Slightly underwhelmed as he never makes me feel confident. That said, he's got England recognition for being a good keeper, and if true, coming on a free so can't really grumble i guess.

He would however have been my 4th choice behind any of Foster, Robinson, Given. You also have to ask yourselves, if he's that good, why are West Ham letting him go now they are in the prem and could certainly afford him, especially given the reports of what they were paying Nolen in the Championship ..

wd have preferred foster but for a club that had ikme in goal a couple of years ago, we can all get a bit spoilt arguing over which england keeper we really, really wanted.

He's the same standard as Kenny imo. Not worth making the wage bill so much bigger for such a minor upgrade in keeper :/

Green is a much better keeper than Kenny. I agree that the wages are stupidly high but a good signing.

Would take Green on a free over Given 3m or Fozzy 5m.Wages might be high but i bet he doesnt get banned for 12 games.

Green is a good keeper. He had a high profile error or 2 a few years back and some people still seem to judge him by this. I've got a few mates that are Wet Spam ST holders and they reckon week in week out he is a solid keeper.

As Ive posted before, I love Paddy and think he was absolutley blinding the year we came up, earned us so many points its unreal, but in the PL he just isnt quite commanding enough in his box for me and hasnt performed consistently enough for me to be overly confident in him. We do need a proper proven PL keeper in order to become an established top flight side IMO.

Tbh my ideal (realistic) choise is Foster, but I wouldnt be upset at getting Green at all.

PK is 6'-1", BF is 6'-4", RG is 6'-3",Foster would be ideal but I'm happy with that if true.

Gonna cost us less than Given and Foster and arguably not much between any off them

After years of having been in Havocland, I can finally see we are definetly heading towards Graceland. strangely put maybe, but thatīs how I choose to look at it when we sign a keeper of this class. Kenny was decent enough, but he is just lacking these two inches of height IMO.I`m a bit dad to see "Kenny the mascot", A very funny character, leave, but Like Ric Roc pointed out itīs now imperative that we support Green from the start if he happens to become our new "goalie", and If we get Samba as well, I can rreally see us having a very solid defence next season...
