Thread: Mayweather v Ortiz

    Default Mayweather v Ortiz

Did anyone else see it? I just looked on YouTube. What a dirty c**t. Ortiz's headbutt was a little naughty, but the lack of sportsmanship from Mayweather was atrocious. Shows him up for the s.cumbag he really is. No doubt he'll get plenty of his followers defend him, but that was inexcusable.

I dunno ben, just watched it and it looks like the ref has signaled to fight on and yeah ok Ortiz has gone to hug him, as an apology, but never drop your hands and look away like he did. Certanly not against Mayweather.
I can see why there was upraor but i also slightly blame Ortiz for lack of professionalism.

I can't buy that, mate. Regardless of the protect yourself at all times rule, there should be professionalism and courtesy involved. If someone is blatantly moaning to the ref for no reason, or trying to walk away/turn his back then I'd agree, but when the bloke is trying to appologise for doing wrong, only for the other c**t to take advantage and land a couple, that's disgusting behaviour. No way can that be excused.

This whole video is mental. What is going on? Did the bell go? What was ortiz doing? Why was the ref looking in a totally different direction?

    Inexcusable. No argument.

That video is the clearest yet, and at no point did the ref signal to box on. My opinion of Mayweather gets worse everytime.

Mayweather is a dirty boxer. Manny would do him and mayweather knows it!

Ok just watched that vid posted on this thread and it gives another dimention to it. Firstly Ortiz's headbutt was bang out of order and for him to take his eyes off of his opponant is suicidal. But i agree with you now Ben Mayweather has let himself down resorting to chinning Ortiz whilst he was clearly not ready to fight and stepping on his foot as well, a trick of the trade.

One other interesting point as well is look who the ref is? Joe Corteez or whatever his name is the same ref who ruined the mayweather Hatton fight and virtually gifting it to Mayweather by breaking it up every time Hatton got inside Mayweather. Conveniently again yesterday he gave the big decision in Mayweather's favour.
Strange though that Ortiz didnt complain dont you think?

Agreed mate. Ortiz was bang out of order, but he knew it and couldn't be more apologetic for it. Mayweather took liberties, and I can't believe he'd be claiming that as a victory. Wrong'un.

Joe Cortez quit ages ago. Why he was allowed to come back for this fight is beyond me. Cortez is corrupt as f**k when it comes to Mayweather fights. He's always reffing them, and always obstructs his opponents, and turns a blind eye to any Mayweather wrong doings. Trust me, take a look at his last 10-15 high profile fights and you'll see what I mean.

On another note, I was pleased to see Paul Smith looking sharp again last night. First round KO. His brother was poor, though. Didn't look comfortable, and got knocked clean out by an average opponent.

Did you see Prizefighter on Thursday? I was impressed with the winner.

Missed Prizefighter mate but sky plussed the boxing on sky last night, didnt know the result, was planning on watching tonight once the kids were in bed! Nevermind
Cant believe Steven Smith got beat i thought he looked mustard when he beat John Simpson last year and to be fair i thought his opponant last night Selby was pretty average. Good news about Paul Smith i like him but am dissapointed he has gone back up to Super middle, i thought when he lost to Degale he said he would fight at Middleweight from now on.
