  • Anyone a bit worried about the transfer policy this summer?

Can see us getting a load of average youngsters on loan from Spuds with the Ramsey connection
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Thats just not the policy though. You are worrying yourself for no reason. Tony has already said that the lower divisions (Champs and below) have been thoroughly scoured for deals and things will be smarter this time. Think of Charlie Austin as the sort of signing we will look at.

Try and keep a decent young spine at the club: McCarthy, Caulker, Fer, Phillips possibly Sandro and Onuoha and build a side around that. The main thing is keeping these players, the rest is just gravy.

I suppose you think Walker Adel when he first came Townsend and Carrol are average
Spurs have been very good to us in the past

I'll be worried if the policy is "no transfers" in the belief our youth players are ready to step up.

I don't think this will happen, they will play a part but new players will come in.

The only worry i have is that it is being dressed as a focus on youth but in reality all it is is the board deciding they are no longer going to invest significantly (and I dont mean just throwing silly money on overpaid/overage players) and we will be left languishing in the championship for a while. Its probably me expecting the worst but as soon as we start signing some decent players, I will start to be reassured. In general I have no problem with focussing on younger players as long as its done right

No chance Facto. Spurs have apparently told him he's in their plans next year

If this had happened when TF took over, relegation after that first PL season, it would have been OK actually as we would have probably managed to become debt-free. But now, after so much money squandered, this outcome is just infinitely sad.

but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Fernandes has said a lot of things about our transfer policy over the last 4 seasons that have been a complete waste of time. Perosnally, I'm worried - with potentially a shoestring budget, a manager with no standing in the game in terms of attracting players, and a squad that needs thinning down massively, this summer could easily be the stuff of nightmares for us.

I think the main thing that we need which has been lacking two seasons is an injection of pace as we're such a one paced side

Think if this current side had pace on flanks and box to box engine in middle of park we would be different outfit

Completely agree. We have been killed this season in the transitions. Plus a distinct lack of pace in attack makes us so one dimensional in that there is a never a threat of the ball in behind. Opposition defenders must have looked forward to playing us knowing all the play is going to happen in front of them and without the worry of pace

Exactly and hence why we often get overrun when defending as opposition know they can commit numbers forward knowing we don't have the pace to punish them on counter

Pretty sure Ramsey knows the reasons, but his hands were tied to a large extent by the squad he inherited.

We have parachute payments, we have some good players already, just need to be firm with those under contract in telling them they must stay. The youngsters and any new players eager to make a name for themselves will surely be better than those that we will be seeing the back of.

TF's biggest and most important summer in charge. And this time, he cannot afford to make a mess of it like he has before.
