Thing is, I can't disagree. His passing was awful last night. On the bright side he did hassle them and put in some great challenges.

Worked his nuts off when he lost possession which was about every 2 mins first half!

Once he starts playing the simple pass he will be a monster. Top box to box player.

Very good on the defensive side of things. On the attack he wasn't very good has to be said! I'd keep him in though just because he tracks back.

IMO he needs to win the ball then pass the ball, win the ball then pass the ball and thats it!!!!.... too many attempts at trickery caught him out... just stick to the simple game like Henry and Sandro are doing and leave that exra bit to players like Vargas and Niko.

I must be watching another player as I saw him work his nuts off two or three times the rest of the time he was strolling around when he should have been busting a gut to get back in position. Very Very good on the ball going towards their goal but way off what is expected defensively in my book.

Some times the easy ball is the brave option as Nick says gets caught in possession way to man times in dangerous areas. Decent player with bags of potential but also lots to work on

Just remember him going through weimann and nearly cutting him in 1/2

he seems to get a bit lost about where he's supposed to be playing , looks the real deal at times then a novice at times , i'll give him another 10 games til i make my mind up about him

I thought he was poor at the start, maybe first 20 minutes. It was very frustrating when he kept giving it away but then he settled and I must say done ok.

Didn't have a great game but absolutely crunched a few Villa players

I see a superior skill level and very good ball winning abilities. As for his passing, it is true that he has given the ball away a lot but many of those times I think that has been because he and the player he was passing to were not on the same page: he expected the player to break left and passed accordingly, but the player broke right, and vice versa. I think with more time playing together this will improve immensely.

Very right footed and played on the left. It worked for the team; less for him. I'd play him No10.

He's box to box in the mould of Gerrard. Had a poor first half but thought he grew into the game.

got a feeling he will be a top player for us, certainly some fans don't seem to have any patience. Isla, Zamora, two of a very long list that have proved the doubters wrong
