    Less hysteria.

    So here's how it works.

We get beaten in the premier league.

Some fans then seem so genuinely shocked that, no longer content to smash up the bidet, they sound like they are about to jump out of a window.

Then by Wednesday they have cheered up and by Fri they are predicting big wins away to Southampton/ West Ham.

That doesn't happen so they get hysterical again and hang over the window ledge.

Why cant fans adapt to the Prem amd recognise that we are going to lose a lot more games than we win? If we do win - eg against Villa possibly in a few weeks - it becomes massive and worth mega celebration; if we get turned over by Liverpool we shrug and move on.

We have actually looked better than predicted going forward the last couple of weeks. We have been savaged by injury in midfield but those players will come back. Its actually our defence that is looking our weak link but they are all individually good players so we just need to hope that Hoddle can sort them out positionally.

We all knew after Remy left that the challenge would be to stay in contention until the transfer window. There have been bonuses. Who expected Niko to shape up? Or Traore, who was written off by many. Austin is doing well.

If we are still in contention by Jan, bring in Defoe, Crouch and a specialist right back will we really be worse than Sunderland, West Brom and Burnley?

Of course i know how disappointing it is to travel and lose. Surely as Rangers fans we are used to a bit of stormy weather - lets just keep it calm, amd we might find supporting the Rs a more enjoyable experience.

It's the way we lose that gets to most.

Tbh I think what happens is we lose a game and some don't get out of the post match depression until the following w.end and by then we've lost/drawn again and the cycle continues. The problem with that is some don't have time or give them selves a chance to look back on the overall games performance and automatically post negative after negative after negative posts, which in turn adds to 'post match depression'.

i think its the fact that we are losing AND the players look lacksidaisical ( i know thats spelt wrong ,but spell checker isnt helping out ), unfit and clueless at times , if i felt we had a team that was trying their hardest ,at the peak of their fitness but just werent good enough ,i`d be more forgiving .

I know where you are coming from and i wd have been more ruthless after the play offs and given harry a golden goodbye to go and spend more time in sandbanks but we are about where i expected us tb and where most sensible fans must have known we wd be so just don't see why so many are so shocked when we lose.

As for motivation of the team to me harry's body language is quite negative. Warnock might struggle to manage big names but his passion is never in doubt - even now - and you see that in what he gets out of limited players. Still, harry is our manager so we might as well get behind him and the team. Tbh if you brought in a new manager tomorrow not sure what he wd change this side of the transfer window.

I can only speak for myself but I get annoyed as the performances under Harry over the last couple of years are genuinely poor. Harry has had time to build a team but what has he done he has left us without a right back and very short upfront. He wanted to play 3 at the back but this has been abandon as we do not have the quality and this was evident from the first day. He has his favourites and continues to play a has been in the back four. The left back situation is not ideal. At the moment I think we will concede to lose matches due to the poor back four, lack of goals and
inconsistent form of some players namely Hoilett and Phillips.

                      .... and maybe less patronising?

It isn't hysterical to have been consistently pointing out that Harry's age and recent record suggest than sooner rather than later ending the relationship might be prudent. It isn't hysteria to suggest that Slaven Bilic (for example) is likely to be a more productive manager than Harry for reasons previously stated. It isn't hysteria to suggest other reasonable candidiates.

It isn't hysteria to have been consistently concerned about the succession of abysmal performances, perplexing selections and tactical naivety that have been on offer since last time were in the top flight. Harry failed to save us and struggled to get us up despite a relatively strong squad. It wasn't hysterical to suggest that no fresh contract existed and that the whole thing was just spin. Even if it did exist, it wont be signed now.

Denial, on the other hand, is a well known form of hysteria ;)

Don't think people are shocked that we are losing every week, we hardly took the CCC by storm so we knew what we were in for this season.

I think it's the fact we have actually bought wisely, Fer Caulker. Mutch etc all looked astute signings on paper, yet we have not really improved and look clueless at times.

And our manager doesn't fill us with any hope, his tactics are negative and so are his press conferences.
