When I first heard that we was interested in Rio and it was only a matter of time before he signed. Hands up I slated him and said he was past it and that it was a lot of money to spend on someone who only has experience to offer...... But having seen various pictures and videos of him and the squad all bonding I've come to release just how important Rio could be... in the short time that he's been here its clear to see that his experience off the field is just as important as on it. He's getting involved with all the banter and I have no doubt that he's starting most of the banter. I can also imagine he'll be helping the shy one's by getting them involved and helping them come out of their shell's... as for on the field its obvious Rio's not going to play every game. But with the new signing of Caulker, that takes the stress/pressure of the CBs. Leaving Dunne and Hill as very very good backups.

This the first time I've actually been genuinely 'excited' about a new season for a very long time. And that all boils down to our good vibe team spirit, something that we've not had for a long time.

    YOU RSSSSSSSSS!!!!
    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

If anyone has got any doubts about Rio whatsoever , watch the Rio in Rio show on bbc i player. Bloke is a proper gent and loves football and hates losing. My fave player we have signed in years and years.

Said it all along, his experience on the pitch and in the dressing room could be invaluable to us. Great signing.

He is a massive coup and will be great on and off the field.

Fair play Nick for admitting you were wrong.

Won't expect the same humility from Richard who clearly has an agenda against Rio.

Fair play nick, takes some balls to hold your hands up and like you said mate think him being here is beneficial in so many ways on and off the pitch. As for the comment on see how he plays by someone else. Really? As kev said we all must of seen him play 100's of times, hes a class act who is still very fit and just changed his game slightly.

It's all very well judging him at United but he won't be playing with the same calibre of player with us so I will reserve judgement until he has played for us
