Deadwood is another one of those towns, I think.

I should really have given Vikings a chance, but I haven`t really found the time. Funny you`re mentioning Yorkshire, thing is 30 years ago I spent 3 weeks in York when I studied English. I really liked Jorvik... I really did.

I've been watching a SyFy channel series Wynonna Earp. It's not in the class of the greats we've mentioned here, but it passes the time. And the young woman who plays the lead role, one Melanie Scrofano, is exceedingly cute! What's it about? Basically Wyatt Earp's great-great granddaughter has to take on demons in a town called Purgatory...

I do the same - see something that fascinates me and then start reading about it. I've learnt more about the world and its history this way than I ever learnt in school or university. Currently reading about Ramesses II and the Hittites! But I will move on to the East India Company next because like you I want to know more now.
Last episode of the series tonight, but I will probably watch it tomorrow or in the week, so no spoilers please anyone!

Being the saddo that I am, it has also led to me reading up aplenty on The East India Co. Some fascinating reading on them.
