  • We all have preconceived biases so this discussion is somewhat futile. You have a vested interest in crypto and so will back it to the hilt. I don't trust the establishment/deep state/powers that be and so I'm obviously not accepting this as our saving grace. Haven't bothered reading what you've wrote Hubble as Im off to pub. Might read it when I have time

      • Quite right Kev. Bit tardy on the surging price of bitcoin though mate, thought you'd have been all over it! Back up over 7k today. All that hot air about banning and regulation has been (interestingly, but also sensibly) scaled back and on top of that someone has gone BIG into btc in the dip - buying over $400,000,000 worth. That's some hedge! Shows what the real story is though....

        • I love this site by the way: Bitcoin Obituaries: BitcoinObituaries.com | Bitcoin Declared Dead 140+ Times and Counting | 99Bitcoins
It logs every time the MSM announces bitcoin is dead. 253 times so far!!! Bitcoin is dead. Long live bitcoin! I PMSL every time I read one of those scaremogering articles and all the lemmings commenting about how happy they are their current bete noir is no more.... when they know F**K all about it and because they're just SO happy to part of the slave system. Ooops.

Anyway you only need to dip your toe in the water with as little as say 30 if that's all you want to risk. Only invest as much as you can afford to lose is always the golden rule.
Bought a few hundred quids each worth of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Etherium pretty much as we were having this chat. Everything apart from the Litecoin is absolutely tanking, the Litecoin are up about 15%.

Is this all down to talk of regulation on crypto trades?

That's probably part of it and I'm really no expert but I think there's so many factors involved. Amongst some of them:
              • Market manipulation by people holding sizeable amounts.
              • The fact the space had just come out of one of the biggest pull-backs since bitcoin's inception.
              • The fact that there is currently a lot less media interest now since everything went crazy back in Dec/Jan time with such an unsustainable parabolic run leading to hugely over-valued prices, that a correction was inevitable and it would seem isn't even over yet now in March.
              • And just to add some perspective, the price of bitcoin today is the price it was last Christmas Day - which was its all-time high at the time.

              Other possible explanations here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeNt-alO_nA

Bitcoin Cash I have some doubts over in the long-term, but those other coins you invested in are solid long-term bets IMO.

I value this guy's opinion personally. Clued up, always speaks a lot of sense and v bullish long-term: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiJnbQZYQAM

A mate of mate who's made a few hundred thousand quid trading cryptos reckons Bitcoin will hit $50,000 by end of 2018. I'm not so sure, but will probably continue to buy steadily whilst the price is low. At the moment I've really only been testing the water.

I'm surprised by this Tarbs, I assumed you bought after we had that chat and btc is at least 20% up from that point.

Here's a really interesting article that reveals what a large part of the recent price crash was due to: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...n-bitcoin-cash

Basically the liquidator dealing with the Mt Gox fiasco started selling off a huge amount of btc to recover funds for those who lost out. With that amount of btc flooding the market it's no surprise the dip was so severe, but what is impressive is how well the market absorbed this, and how quickly it has recovered.

                    Nope.

Did buy just after we spoke. Bitcoin is right back more or less to where it was when I bought (might be up a percent or 2 but nothing significant). Bitcoin Cash is down about 20%, Etherium the same. Litecoin is up about 20%.

Early days of course, and lots going on with the crypto market at present. I suppose it's probably actually a good thing. Gives me a chance to keep steadily buying while it's low.

                      • IMPORTANT: If you own any EOS you need to register it by June 1st.

                        From Reddit:

On or around June 1, 2018 all EOS Tokens will become frozen and non-transferable on the Ethereum blockchain. Not long after, I suspect that EOS community members will create a snapshot of token balances that carry over onto a new community generated and selected EOS blockchain. block.one will not be launching EOS blockchains or operating any of their nodes. Additionally, this is a community subreddit unaffiliated in an official capacity with block.one
