    Nearly got the sack from my job that year, for refusing to work on a saturday (for which i signed to do) and going to a match cos i new we would only have one season in the first division.

        Ron's last season for us was that 68-69 season, don't remember how many games he played, but he wasn't really up to it. I think Parkes joined in 1970, he was about 19, got him from Walsall. Best keeper we ever had.
        Mike Kelly is now down the road as assistant manager to Roy Hodgson.
