    The official site says a deal 'WORTH' £3.5 million.

    It's probably £1 million up front, then add ons, most probably surrounding promotion. Also, when deals are termed as 'Worth' £X, it often takes account of the player's wages over the term. A long way from 'paid' £3.5 million.

    So, 'calm down, calm down'.

                Sky Sports.com do actually say 'splashed out £3.5 million'.

                So I may be wrong, but it's taking a huge risk to sign one unproven-in-England player for £3.5 million, when you've just started at a new club.
