Should really bring back some of the more acceptable ones as some of the chants now are quite boring!! just saying!!

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Can anyone remember a song played over the tannoy's in the mid seventies, it was a bit repetitive but I think it went something like this.

                Rangers support Rangers,
                Rangers,
                Queens Park Rangers.

There must have been more words, but this is all I can remember.

They used to play a little jingle too, but the tune cannot be written here.

                  Sorry cannot help you.

But below is my favourite Rangers song.

La la la lalala lalala Rangers 2 3 4 La la la lalala lalala Rangers
Repeat for about half an hour

Sung brilliantly by us at a night game at Watford in the 70’s, went on for ages.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

We could update the Paul Magee song for Rob Dickie....

This is basically repeatedly shouting DICK - EE to the tune of "Attack! Attack! Attack......"

It's very effective and noisy and well within the capabilities of even a moderately excited fan to sing

Jesus 72, I'm getting on a bit.and I struggle to remember a lot of these chants, can't answer your question directly as I am new ish to the site, but from what I have read recently, it used to get a bit lively on here ? That right?

How about a new one on the list?

You are our Rangers, our only Rangers
You make us happy when we win a game
You'll never notice, how much we love you
Please don't lose the bloody game

We could change 'Rangers' to 'QPR'
We could change the word 'bloody' to something else. (I was trying to keep it clean)

                            It's short and sweet.

But it's not short and sweet is it? I have a theory that for any chant to be LOUD and endure it can't have more than five or six words. "Songs" with loads of words mostly peter out or become a mumbly dirge like you hear at a funeral when attendees are too self conscious to lustily sing a hymn. Short and sweet is literally just a few words maybe augmented with some La, der, nah, oh or some other sound eg the QPR FC from White City song which hardly has any lyrics has it?

I give you the perfect chant,

La la la lalala lalala Rangers 2 3 4 La la la lalala lalala Rangers
Repeat for about half an hour, very economical on words, 5 I think.

Happy Christmas all, who isn’t just a tad sloshed, I’m enjoying a 12 year old Glenfiddich as I type.
