              too young to remember before Gerry. He made us top London club on no funds. Holloway had limited funds too but as in league 1, we had pulling power ie. one of the bigger fish in the league so could attract players. Gerry on other hand managed to keep us in top flight and matched all the big teams in the land

                  Can only be one of three Venables, Gerry Francis or Sexton really as they did it at the top level. Sexton was by far and away the best football I have ever seen along with Netherlands side in 70's but Venables took us to our only Cup Final and won the Div 2 title by 10 points and then qualified us for Europe in our first season back.
                  Francis meanwhile on a tight budget made us a really exciting side and top london club on more than one occassion getting the best out of Les, when others had failed.
                  I have gone for Venables though as we actually won something with him and may well have won a lot more had he stayed.
