  • Naive or diplomatic quote from ainsworth

After what Ainsworth described as "a boring end of season game" he went on to confirm our inability to score. It was his next statement however that should concern us more."Its something we MAYBE need to look at for next season, although NOT SIMPLY IN TERMS OF PERSONNEL.The players we have here are capable of better".We've "looked" at it for an entire season Gazza, weren't you and Briatore watching ? These sound like the words of someone who is either extremely naive,a "yes man" or one being operated like a ventriloquists dummy by remote control by some celestial being in Bahrain.Either they need to open their eyes or its Briatore's way of saying yet again that there are very limited funds to improve our attack.Very much the same again for next season then, contrary to the promises 21 months ago,and despite screwing the fans for more money.

I made exactly the same comment last night on here. Think it is taking the p.i.s.s if they think we have good enough strikers. Although we might score if any one was to have an effing shot!!!!

in my opinion the strikers are not scoring for a reason......no settled formation...no settled team....one minute playing one minute not.......not easy to stay on top of your game with all that going on.......not excusing bad performances but there is always a reason for things to happen.also last season we had a fair few goals come from midfield......did we this season....no.

If we had taken some of the glaring chances missed by the likes of Helguson, and Blackstock. We would have been a hell of a lot closer to the playoffs than we are now. Settled team or not. The players aren't good enough. The fact goals last season came from midfield also confirms thatour strike force isn't good enough. It's been that way for years and hasn't been fixed. If we don't get any other strikers in and played the same team all next season. Our strikers will still struggle to score. Even some of the players acknowledged we are weak in that area.

Players should have done better, but still maintain the constant tinkering did not help under Sousa

you said it right there...it's been that way for years....so not a new thing....our midfield should have really chipped in with more considering there were 5 of them most of the season......lack of goals has been a team thing this year not just certain individuals.

I don't think that helped but sacking two managers would have affected the squad even more. Routledge himself has said that he signed because of Sousa so how must he feel when that manager has his contract terminated? All players need consistency especially the younger players.
