There was a fundamental change in thinking versus Preston that was long overdue and hard to ignore. Instead of playing everything out from the back with a young goalie and old CBs, we went to goal kicks upfield to a two striker offense.

While it’s clear we need to recruit faster CBs in January and next summer, for now we can stabilize a leaky defense with a more leak-proof tactical change.
