  • 5 Takeaways from Fulham

    (1) We are hopeless and hapless on defense. Not one player I wouldn’t trade out now for something fresh, different. Play Masterson, get Kakay and Niko back from loan
    (2) Bench Lumley, even with Kelly out. Every game he seems to gift a goal, and his doe-in-headlights lost look out there says it all. Go with Dillon.
    (3) Mlakar — what the f-ck? He’s shown nothing, done nothing, but somehow he always gets the call now over BOS. Why?
    (4) Midfield — bring Smith back into the lineup — Ball gone missing last several games
    (5) MW has to square with fans that the defense is horrific, and will be fixed as his top priority. We are slow, unimaginative, and lacking urgency.

The main fact is that both our centre halves, in fact all of our centre halves are so slow. Hall and leistner are a liability alongside each other. Neither have an ounce of pace between them meaning it's a guarantee that the striker they are up against will have time and space to get a shot away at numerous times in a match. Its quite pathetic that a professional manager has allowed that pairing to be picked together time and time again. The club have always been poor in the transfer market in recent years. Barbet is no better. Cameron is old and slow and no other championship clubs tried to sign him....apart from us!!
The club have no idea how to identify young defenders and bring them through to the first team. Instead of signing premier league midfielders like Smith and Amos, they should have been signing a centre back on loan.

Will play Ball as a central defender, alongside Wallace and Hall. Masterson must be given a run as well. It is of no use saying that he is not ready yet. Is Leistner ready? He's rather finished.
