Yes, that is great news.

Competition for places is important and in the 2nd half of the season I felt as if Lumley knew he would keep his place no matter how many errors he was making as Ingram was not likely to displace him.

And that is the correct way to treat players. Joe deserves to be the first choice, he should stay in possession of the shirt.
