  • How do new chants get created / started?

Genuine question, how do new chants get started?

You don’t see them on forums or anything, is it just 1 guy who starts chants and people join in or what?
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

From pre internet days, it was usually a group of fans who came up with an idea, in the boozer, on the way to a game, and in some cases, during a game.
Also hearing fans from other teams sing a song that we thought we could adapt.

I believe some of the more traditional songs came from The 2 World Wars. I know Manure's scarlet ribbon was from some regiment in WW1.

I always wondered about Captain Jack from back in the day. Many verses, with a few alternate verses thrown in depending who was leading the chant.

Ted sits down with weare and pinkie,a bottle of blue nun or 3 and some incense. They let the creative juice flow. Pinkie and weare sought the tune out and Ted throws done the phat bars. Then they copyright said ditty.

I still think we should sing "Always look on the Bright Osayi Samuel". Be good to sing about a player for a change. We used to have Gallen, Rowlands, Shittu, Bircham etc sung about and now we have the odd song, Luongo being the main one.
