Probably written into his contract to help him re-sign last time and offset lower wages on offer.

Just spoke to JJB's brother by fax and he said he's driving Freeman up to Melwood(Liverpool) to discuss terms as we speak, via Godfey's bakery of Hornchurch to get a few Belgian buns and two sausage sandwiches for the journey.

Above valuations are insane. He's a decent-ish player in a ropey team at bottom end of division. He is not premiere league quality - no premiere league team will buy him. Dunno who would buy him...... Maybe Glasgow Rangers or Sunderland or Fulham for £2 million plus add-ons?

If you believe the clickbait sites then you might add Middlesboro are still interested and so are Leeds.

Might as well sell him for a penny as we prob not allowed to spend 4 million

If that’s true, who negotiated the contract? 4.5 mill, if true, is again selling cheap. He is worth much more than that.

.”....4.5 mill or the highest bidder...” would’ve been a better, guess there are more club interested. Again, if true, plain stupid.

                      Yes, but.....
When he signed his contract extension he was in his last year so could have left for nothing shortly after. With some championship players on £30k a week what incentive would there be for him to sign a £15k a week deal with us? If we paid him £25k a week perhaps a contract clause would be £6m. Perhaps a cheaper sell on clause means we were able to get him on slightly less wages? I'm not sure how this works but seems right.

Not sure he was on 15 k, and u don’t have to agree on a fixed release-price. Just promise him/do a contract clause that state that we do sell to the highest bidder if they can agree terms. Why roll over and show your throat? Not the first time either......

                        Is Redknapp still with us?
