I definitely wouldn’t start with it. As have been said, we don’t have good enough wing backs. I’d go 1 up front still away from home and against Watford. Get back to what we were good at and soak up pressure and hit on break.

What do we do when 3 at the back goes wrong ?

Isn't it more about just having a Plan B or C when things aren't working out. e.g. the 1st half on Saturday?

Exactly. Use it when we really have to chase a game not as a starting formation, because we certainly don't have wing-backs at the club

We do have a Plan B and a Plan C our problem at the moment is we cannot get Plan A right. The starting set up is mostly wrong. What works against one team doesn't necessarily work against another. More homework as to whom we are playing seems to be needed.

I wouldn't change what we've got , because whatever we do it's one step forward one or two steps backwards , cousins is shlt scowens is mom , scowens is shlt cousins is mom Smith is a donkey then Smith is mom he'll probably be #### on Friday , we've been hit and miss since December

Only thing we need to do is get on the front foot at home from the off !

When we’re playing teams like Birmingham at home who are probably on a par with us, if not slightly worse, then 2 up front and maybe 3 at the back. But when we’re away from home or against much better opposition, we need to be more solid. We can not dictate the game against decent sides, we don’t have the players. Our best run of form was against good sides that we let have the ball and soaked up presssure and then hit on the break.

Play with intesity and get the ball upto Wells with him one on one with the centre back with runners joining in. Worked on Saturday and in previous games but does not work when we play at snails pace with back and sideways passes.

One thing I know: if he's fit Rangel plays, and if that means a 4 then so be it. Because he's our best defender.

Great we have options, but you have to play to squad strengths. We didn't do that last year. There's no reason we can't get be positive with 4 at t'back.

McLaren messed it up by dropping Liestner and Wzsolek to the bench.
just because Hall & Lynch kept a clean sheet against Portsmouth it was silly to think they would repeat that against a decent Championship side.

I think Smith had a great game and on another day could have had scored 5 goals.
He should keep his place in the side and the players told to get the ball out wide and put crosses into the box for him as they did in the 2nd half.

Scowen, Lynch and BOS need to be dropped for tomorrow's game at Bristol City.

Thought BOS was only bright spot first half

Yes, he probably was, but Wzsolek has had a good season and imo did not deserve to be dropped.

I dont think that QPR are in a position to give some younger players more game time or to experiment for next season. The previous manager tried that 2 seasons ago and QPR almost got relegated! !

Pavel has been awful the last few games and to drop him for BOS was nothing that anyone would have grumbled about before the game kicked off.
