Hall brought a calmness at the back and was assured against a very awkward target man. Played well and great to see him back on the field of play.

Brilliant player, shame he doesn’t get runs in the team anymore
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Composure assurance and class .. three attributes sorely missing from our other centre backs .

Saw the Wigan goals. Boy was Toni badly at fault for both of them. On top of his poor clearance setting up Pompey's goal in the first game.

Think he deserves a few league games now. Did brilliant tonight. Hope he continues to stay fit.

The bloke he was marking was a bit of a handful but Grant dealt with him well. Definitely deserves a run of games.

Agree with all of the above. I thought he was brilliant and he was against Leeds as well. I would start him, I think he is our best defender. I get not bringing him in when we were keeping clean sheets, but now we aren't so get him in the 11.

If fit has to be the first defender picked as he has a bit of quality that the other lads do not have. Love to see Rangel back as well as his influence has been missed.

And if Rangel comes back in at RB, Furlong should partner Hall in the centre of the defence. Way better than Lynch.

Agreed Hubs, Furlong will learn a lot alongside Hall and Rangel.

Good performance from Hall. In fact the defence all did ok last night.

Totally agree with you here. Rangel is an organiser and Hall is a leader so the pair of them will help Furlongs questionable positioning. I don't think it'll happen though as Steve seems pretty happy with BFG + Lynch.
