Thing is Tarbs is for most of us who were teenagers in the 70s or 80s ,hooliganism was part and parcel of your matchday experience ,whether you participated , got involved if you had to or just watched it go off . It was part of our culture and ,young men are tribal and some like a fight , others (like myself ) enjoyed the peacockery of the terraces and the whole Casual fashions and some liked both . They were for the most of us fun times ,occasionally frightening but generally just a laugh .
Its a different ball game nowadays and your looking at bird for the slightest thing . Anyone still at it is risking everything .

        spot on.

There is also an argument that football and hoolginism have links which go deep into our history. There is therefore an argument that its part of our culture which is being swept inder the carpet by a sanitised, corporate culture. That's football in 2019.

It amuses me that the press flag up a bit of aggro while Man City - to take one example - is a wholly owned subsidiary of the UAE, a state which has been involved with and implicated in various atrocities. But that's another story...

Personally i thought life was great ,i m from the suburbs of South London ,we had jobs ,no qualification s,but jobs ,jobs were easy to come by in the 80s, scooters were wicked ,even cars were good ,escorts ,cortinas ,capris etc
Fashion was immense ,the end of Mod revival ,Casual thing ,times moved quickly ,what was in one week was out the next ! We taxed ,anyone who had the cheek to shop on our patch ,Rose Hill ( Marco Polo ) Sutton ( Troubadore) Croydon ( Budvals)and in tern we were very careful moving on anyone elses ! Stuarts included !!!!
Life in them days , was just a laugh
Just being the best , was all that mattered the newest ,freshest ,clothes, music ,birds, scooters . we never expected Rangers to win the league , but i certainly never expected anyone my age to rock up at QPR ( or Palace ,or my local pub /youth cub )wearing better garms than me !
If i could relive 82 to 92 i would bite your arm off !!

                    "Not at all"

Sounds like you stood on the side and had a w@nk while it all kicked off. Your self-esteem is wrapped up in dreams of football violence. You look back on blood and injuries you have witnessed as badges of pride and belonging to misunderstood scum of the earth.
