  • Matt Smith as a lone CF at the end of games....

......when we’re in front gives the other team plenty of time and more possession than needed. It’s a dangerous tactic and makes us under a lot of pressure. He isn’t fast enough and isn’t great getting and/or keeping the ball. Better to change to a player who has the attributets needed to stress the opponents and work hard. Matt S should only be used - at the end of games - if we are chasing goals or as a defender winning headers.

Great win at Forest, we were focused and I believe Mr Robinsons pre-match b#llocks helped us with that. Is it possible that any Town player can do the same?

This is exactly what was being argued last season when he was the Plan A when he should have been Plan C

honest pro and worthy of place on the bench but is sadly not mobile enough to be effective.

Would like see Oteh given some time off bench

He is bought on more for his ability at defending corners than his attacking attributes.

This. Just as useful at both end of the pitch. Easy to overlook that.

Bringing on a fresh Oteh would be more effective. If he presses the defence thoroughly , the corners at the end of the matches will be fewer. (I think). Matt Smith can hardly run anymore..

i don't mind when he comes on as a sub for eze as he doesn't run a whole lot either and we still have wells to press anyway. matt is a good option though as quite a few of our players are work horses anyway so they make up for matts lack of movement but matt brings something that no one else in the team can match and thats height. think of how many defensive headers from set pieces he puts in during the last 10 minutes.

teams always seem to get 3-4 set pieces in the closing stages of a game and thats were matt comes in imo.

We already have Wells on to do the pressing Shania. No need for another in a similar role when you need to close a game out. Smith's lack of pace isn't a biggie at that stage, and certainly by comparison to his unique attributes.

Wells is usually subbed shortly afterwards for a more defensive player.
