Yes, perhaps so. But I got Grealish's £20m from Transfermarkt who are quite conservative in their valuations, and the gap there is even wider with them valuing Eze at only £1.5m.

Grealish is a good player but his stats on assists and goals scored per appearance are not very good at all. Surely that is what wins games.

Bullsh*t article this one. As is proven time and time again, any player can be worth as much as any club wants to pay for them. There are examples every window of players going for 2 or 3 times their market rate, simply because another club wants them, and the club that owns them plays hardball.

For the record, I don't think Eze is an 8m or 10m quid player yet. But I bet you if somebody wants him in January they will have to pay at least that to get a deal done!

Eze is still just potential tho very promising but I wouldn't rule out a top club paying a decent screw for him , sit him in oblivion just to stop another club getting him

James Maddison went for 24m after only 1 debut season in the championship. And David Brooks scored 3 goals in 30 appearances in the championship and went for 13m.

The transfer market works much like the stock market especially when it comes to young players - clubs buy on future growth not current valuations.

So “current fair valuations” are never financial reality for high potential players. Clubs will pay x2 x3 x4 current fair value if they want a certain player.

Eze as a current England u20 international, and one of the leagues most outstanding young talents, is worth whatever a club is prepared to pay. And that will be in line with other comparisons of his position or similar including Grealish, Maddison and Brooks.

Exactly. Based on those values I'd say it's mental to suggest he's not worth £8m

Some of our fans place such a premium on work rate but under value technical ability. Players who work hard are 10 a penny. Players with ability like Eze are extremely rare and so are valuable. When did we last have a player of that standard out of our youth system

Grealish has a terrible goals and assist record.

Eze three years younger, playing in a weaker team and with less experience still effects games much more regularly than a player Villa rejected £20m+ for last summer
