The signings he was eventually allowed to make were all very rushed in time for the deadline, and none of them were his first choice targets. He'd missed out on those as it was left so late.
Didn't have to sign them though did he ?

Although on paper, to be fair, some of those looked decent. Just a shame they were sh*t on grass.

Hughes is the biggest culprit by far as many of the players he signed were on big wages too and not being able to ditch them ended up costing QPR big time via FFP.

As for Warnock's signings in the Prem, yes most proved to be $hite, but many were free. Others like SWP Ferdinand Young Traore didn't perform as would have been expected, but the main fault was that they earned too much, and that is down to Beard and Fernandes who offered and approved the contracts.

I agree with Stanley, that the were rushed last minute choices and had Warnock been given the funds in June, he would have signed Routledge, Graham and if possible, Williams, who all performed very well for Swansea. He also had other targets that he couldn't buy with the bags of peanuts he had as transfer funds.

Yes, he might have been better off keeping his Championship squad fully intact and playing. Connolly and Gorkss or Young and Ferdinand? Although he did keep most of them and even selected them for many of the games, but it was Hughes who got rid of many of them in the summer window. I would have rather he kept Kenny Buzsaky Helgusson Smith rather than Cesar, Granero and Johnson.

Agree with this 100% although a fit Andy Johnson would have been a great option up top but we all knew that he would end up on the sidelines more than on the pitch.

Ironically Warnocks job was to keep us out of the bottom 3 and we were when TF sacked him for Hughes. Hughes definitely was the worst culprit and screwed our club long term with long expensive contracts given to mostly dross

Dreadful manager and look at Stoke and ourselves as to the damage he causes to a football club and the shite he leaves them in. The other point is none of his teams can defend!

Corrr as much as I like NW he didn't half make some crap signings. I know some were last minute but some really poor acquisitions there.

Then we have Ł22,000,000 on transfer fees alone from saggy face on 3 shocking players.

We well and truly had had our pants pulled down.

They have probably started regretting that now.
