Don’t hate the player hate the game
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Jeez, possibly with the exception of Barton, Warnock's signings were TERRIBLE!

OMG, I had forgotten just how bad they were. Did we really pay all that money on what would amount to very little talent.

Bit unfair to exclude Warnock's pre-Premiership signings.

Worst of the lot has to be this pair:
              >>Steven Caulker Cardiff £8,000,000 22 Jul, 2014
              >>Jordan Mutch Cardiff £6,000,000 05 Aug, 2014

You have to bear in mind he had no money to spend until the 11th hour when the new owners arrived. He got us to the prem but his hands were tied because the club was up for sale, so Tango and Cash were providing no funds. The signings he was eventually allowed to make were all very rushed in time for the deadline, and none of them were his first choice targets. He'd missed out on those as it was left so late.

He had the dregs to choose from by that stage. It's hard enough getting to the prem and staying there for a small club. How much harder was it made not being given funds til the last minute. Had he had the whole summer to prepare a squad with backing from the board - which is the very least he deserved - it would have been a very different story IMO.

Good grief.... I had managed to expunge vast majority of those hapless signings from my brain. I've relapsed into a trough of despair again thanks to that list!

Farkin hell how many of those can you actually say were worthy signings and gave the same effort to the club as the club gave them in wages.

Good point Stan. You almost feel he would have been better off not making those rushed purchases at all and stuck with the championship unit.

Absolutely, not fair to include NW he had no money until basically Transfer Deadline day, when it was basically too late for any real quality to be added. Seems Cardiff have treated him the same way though, never really had a proper chance at Prem, got shafted by Tevez and West Ham when at Sheff Utd too.
