  • New FFP sanctions

Looks like interesting times ahead for all those teams taking the gamble of the promised land

    Matt Hughes
#EFL today introduced new sanctioning guidelines for breaching spending rules with a maximum of 21 points docked. #BCFC face being docked 15 points - 6 for overspending plus nine for a possible aggravated breach. More

Presume that's Brum and not Bristol City. Any team employing Redknapp should be deducted 6 points straight away and 6 points when they go skint.

Terms of being in the competition is that you cannot take legal action against the governing bodies. Freedom to trade goes out of the window based on rules in place which clubs were consulted on.

FFP should be based on the smallest club in each league budget, for example nobody in the premiership should be able to spend more than say, Bournemouth.

lets see how Chelsea and Man City deal with that.

            Now that is Fair.

you could argue that the owners can spend their money... it's just that their clubs will get a points deduction if they do it.

new rules don't seem so great for us to be fair... we might cop for a points deduction too (may 2-5 points) if we did breach ffp last season.

Completely fair which means it will never happen ever.

We can but hope that one day common sense breaks out in the powers to be.

100% agree, it's financial doping/handicapping. Disgraceful from these so called guardians of the sport.

May as well just tell us who we are allowed to beat and where we can finish in August and scrap the actual competition

Pretty much spot on there Dave. Thing is there is no predictability in the championship even when they seem to have a different set of rules for the perceived bigger clubs. Sky don’t help with all the 5hit they spout. Just watched Prutton on highlights show saying we have new owners who brought in the loan signings last minute

Yes I noticed that. New owners? News to us eh! I surprised Jamie didn't pick them up on that.
