Police dogs jumping through hoops at half time. Made a change from the opposition cutting through hoops during the game...

For me it was mid 70's.
The memory that stays with me is of the West Indian guy in the smart overcoat that used to patrol the Uxbridge road end of Loftus Road who shuffled up to people saying "who wants seats" and "two together"

Also the excitement of seeing the floodlights on way to night games such as AEK and the much postponed league Cup tie with Arsenal.

First game was QPR 5 v Birmingham 1 but don’t overly remember it. First game I properly remember was when we lost 0-1 to Leeds in 74 when they were crowned champions.

Remember Ellicott when he featured on "World of Sport" after he ran on the pitch before the kick off and shook the hands of all the players, think it was Portsmouth away.
Ellicott one of the many from Christopher Wren.

I dunno if its the rose tints, but it does seem like it was more fun back in the day.

Mind you, part of it is that from the late 60s to mid 70s we were pretty decent on the park, to an extent that we haven't seen since. So naturally those days seem good.

The main difference between then and now off the park is that there is far less privacy. Back then you very unlucky to be on camera. I grew up in Notting Hill Gate, go there these days and its 24/7 surveillance from the moment you leave the house, cameras everywhere.

The atmosphere hasn't really changed much - contrary to popular belief - but it was more of a laugh.

Castrating the lower loft was a big mistake.

                            Idiots.

Add to that making the Upper Loft members only too... oh, and the ticket prices!
