It's time we put this to bed and paid our fine.

We signed up to the agreement, knew exactly what the potential fine would be and have been laughed out of court trying to get out of it.

        Pay up and move on.

Speculations were, the original fine was £7.6m:

If that was indeed the case, then fines are negotiable and we should stick to our guns - disputing and challenging our fine size.

£7.6m the original fine if you don't fight it you don't get a reduction.

We could take the case to His Holiness Pope Francis and, guess what, we'll still be told to pay the amount we were fined. The amount we KNEW we'd have to pay, the amount we SIGNED up to pay when we signed the agreement.

And if you're looking for a shred of hope, this should make you change your mind: 'In reaching a settlement, the EFL acknowledges that the club did not make any deliberate attempt to infringe the Rules or to deceive'...

It's time the board paid up and shut up.

And how would you say the court case went?

Logic dictates that they couldn't have been laughed out of court if it still hasn't been paid, so surely the case wasn't a disaster?

Bournemouth were told to pay £7.6m, and they reached an agreement of £4.75m. How does that equate to us paying our fine in full and do it asap?
On the contrary, this shows that fines are negotiable, so we should keep fighting to reach a reduced settlement.

That's not logic at all. They were told under no uncertain terms that they signed up to the rules, acted in a manner they knew would result in the fine they received and the fine is fair and just. In short, they were laughed at for having the audacity to even take it that far.

They can't force us to pay the fine because it's not a criminal or civil case, but the Football League will start to lose their patience.soon and we will face expulsion at worse or a significant transfer embargo lasting for many, many years at best.

We need to pay up and shut up.

Did you read the part where the FA say that they, Bournemouth, didn't try to make any attempt to infringe the rule... Well, we weren't so gentlemanly about it.

We were liars and are making fools of ourselves. There is no room for negotiation, there is no reprieve. We were found guilty because we were and we tried to cover it over too.

We disagree on whether to just pay up or keep fighting the size of the fine. So many people were up in arms over the relatively small transfer fee we received from the Smithies deal - this FFP fine has 10x the effect on our finances as the Smithies deal. So any reduction of the fine would more than cover the perceived loss on the Smithies deal.
We as a club are skint. So of course we should keep fighting for the best settlement we can get. And the Bournemouth settlement shows, that the initial fine does not equate the fine paid in the end.

Bournemouth didn't try to cover it up and put their hands up. That's why there was room fro settlement. We acted in a completely different manner and will not have any scope.

Are we skint? Yes, but it is our owners who made us skint and have given us a £40m fine which will either see us financially ruined, expelled from the league/division or banned from signing players other than freebies or youngsters for a number of years.

We need to put more pressure on the board to sort out the mess THEY created.

Even if they agree to pay £4m a year back over 10 years they need to act and stop trying to convince us that we are the aggrieved party and the victims in all this.
