Old vs new. Quick quick transition keeping two / three up. Jerry couldn't cope.

We may be seeing the end of the type of possession based, Spain lite game that has been the norm for a long while now........ at least two huge results at the tournament where the side with less ball turned over the jolly.

Been a good start of the tournament with a very open look about it. Be interesting to see how Belgium and England fare today as both could go deep into it if they play to the level they are capable of.

I think Italy can still win.

I fully expect England to get off to a flier today with a 2-1 win

Italy v Holland would indeed be a dream final in 4 weeks' time.

Loving it so far - Der Jairmans on the ropes already, Brazil drawing with the Swiss, Iceland with Argentina, it's a minnows dream. Spain Portugal was just fantastic, everything you'd expect from a top World Cup game. Just watch Engerland go and spoil it by losing to Tunisia.

Shoulda booked the Belgium players early on there for diving in the box. Quite a lively game this so far

The problem with 4 team per group format is that if the first two games are not draws, the two winners can simply knock it about a bit when they play each other and settle for a draw. We've seen this before. So if England & Belgium win, a draw between them see em both through.

I know some last sixteen groups are gonna be tougher than others, but I can also see a few draws between teams who have won their first game.

This couldn't happen in a group of four if we reverted to 2 points = win.
