  • Holloway speaks on bring sacked by QPR

    HOLLOWAY STATEMENT

Ian Holloway has spoken for the first time since being sacked as QPRmanager – admitting he’s “bitterly disappointed” to have lost his job.

He told the LMA: "It has been a privilege and honour to have been QPR manager not once but twice, for over 300 matches.

"I am bitterly disappointed to have been asked to leave the club, but I proudly believe it is in a better place than when I arrived.

"I'm sure the club will go on from strength to strength and I thank the fans for their wonderful passion and the support they gave me and my team.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my tenure and wish the club all the very best for the future. Come on you Rs!"

Nice words and I agree with him regarding us being in a better place. Also agree it was time to move onto the next level. Good luck IH.

fair play to him and obviously hes dissapointed as anyone would be. in hindsight he did what was asked of him and stabalised the club, he just wasn't the man to take us forward unfortunately but i do still love ollies enthusiasm and history at the club. thanks for the effort ollie

He helped stabilise the club but not the team. For the sake of his own health it is better he has gone. He has saved his status with the fans by not slagging anyone off and leaving
                with a bit of class.

So when will we learn what actually happened?
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

Well done Ollie. Dignity with respect as we would expect.

Very much so, have to say i was getting a bit concerned the longer the silence went on, that something was brewing up but its is nice that he will hopefully now be remembered for the good times, rather than the bad. He has done his job now time to move on up, i hope :-)

Probably never as he has more than likely been gaged (payed up and told to shut up).

I think he did exactly what he was brought in to do, who knows how we would have done with him moving forward, we may have taken another step or it could have gone all wrong, it doesn't matter now, the board figure they have a better idea! Holloway showed class after the sacking, most people would if you are being paid not to work for a year, I think we may look back at his tenure being a very important step towards changing the direction of the club and I am thankful for that!

                              What's there to learn?

I'd imagine he was sat down, thanked for his efforts in stabilising the club during a difficult period and for bringing youngsters into his first XI and told the club would be taking a different direction without him.

Its part and parcel of the game.
