Another season of transition?

All the talk and debate about transition or consolidation just complicates a very simple fact - play the game to win. If you do you get success, if you don't you get relegated. You can't plan to finish 10th. Attract the best you can afford and see where it gets you. Impossible to say buy X Y or Z and we will go up or down. The comments on here about our youngsters make them sound like the class of 92 when the truth is we still need to see how good they are if they constitute the majority of our team.

This is a great post mate, but to be fair I don't think anyone has said our youngsters are anything like the class of 92. It's just it's been years since we had this many youngsters come through our ranks, all of which have bundles of potential and look like they can go on and become very good players. It's only natural to get excited for the future in this case.

Fernandes did point out that there was more to just changing Holloway and any new potential owners or major investors would almost certainly want their own man in place.

I am really starting to think this is a consortium headed by SM buying shares in the club rather than him just being Manager. I still cant believe they would have sacked Olly, without someone ready to step in, wouldn't make sense at all.

Means we are looking at other candidates.

I think McLaren bring manager and part of consortium would be and dreadful idea. Kind of becomes the unsackable manager and could be very very messy

But the fact that the Dortmund II manager has turned us down points to McLaren not being our manager doesn't it?
Means we are looking at other candidates.

The season to come is one of the most exciting i can recall for a long time. We've got these young lions who must play a
prominent role at the club, is just piquing my interest for next season.
At the same time with so many of "our own" in the team i'm inclined to give them more leeway,
and expectation is not as high.

Exactly Tarbs, perhaps this consortium of McLaren's is looking to buy Tony out? Tony isn't the majority shareholder any more, Ruben is.
Which begs the question, would McLaren come in as manager, or just as a part of the board, with someone else coming in? The fact that the Dortmund II manager has reportedly turned us down shows we aren't guaranteeing McLaren would be taking charge as manager.
It's an interesting situation.

Really like the idea of McClaren coming in and think our young lads will really see the benefit as this is a man who coached the Man Utd class of 92 when they were at their peak. I will back anything that benefits our club on and off the pitch.

Not transition for me I think we have done that cycle and are coming out of it. The change I see as now making progress
