In The Air Tonight - who is this by??

I know it's a Phil Collins song, but the pre-match version is a lot heavier. Maybe it's not 'In the air tonight' but sounds like it (?).

It's bugging me that I can't find out who it's by. I thought Nickelback, but nothing on web to suggest it is.

Please put me out of my misery.

Perhaps they've just adjusted the balance to give it that heaviness?
The drums certainly sound more prominent.

Could be. My son suggested a similar thing, that it's distorted by the PA system. Hmmm.

But it doesn't sound like Phil Collins to me. :what:

I think it's Axel Rudi Pell - a German Rock Band that covered it in about 2005. You can search around and find their studio version on youtube I would guess (don't go there personally as I'm far too much of a technophobe for that).
The version we get is very similar in production to this track but far more over produced. My business partner is a (sad) metal freak and has seen these guys live over in Hannover/Berlin and also other Countries in Europe and tells me their live shows are very over-produced and great fun! Mind you he is a Wet Spam man.
