  • Caleb Folan "rejected" QPR

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...859046,00.html

Out-of-favour Hull City striker Caleb Folan has told the club that he is not averse to moving away - but only if the transfer is right for him.

The 27-year-old has been a bit part player for the Tigers this term and has already spent an unsuccessful loan spell at Middlesbrough.

The striker was then expected to join Championship side Queens Park Rangers on loan this month but rejected the move.

The player's agent Hayden Evans says the Republic of Ireland striker is not being obstructive and will move on if the offer is right.

"The deal between Hull and QPR was agreed between the two clubs and then they brought that to us," Evans told the Hull Daily Mail.

    Wasn't right

"Caleb spoke to (QPR boss) Paul Hart and he was initially interested in possibly playing for him as he knew him from their time at Leeds, but in the end he decided it wasn't right for him at this time.

"Caleb hasn't put in a transfer request at Hull City and he has a contract which runs until the end of next season.

"Obviously Hull have made it clear that they want to move him out on loan, and Caleb wants to play football so is not being obstructive.

"He just wants to make sure that when he moves on he is fully recovered from his recent injury and fully fit and able to do a job for the team he joins.

"He also wants to ensure it is a move that is suitable for him.

"At present, Hull have not come to us with any other offers, but there are still two weeks left before the window closes so he could yet move on."

If no one comes in, no one will go out.

I am pleased that he has turned down the move, but QPR do need to sign someone.

Kitson or Cousin on loan would do, but perhaps QPR can also try buying a striker, Gary Hooper anyone?

"dont know if it was true", it was all lies, sorry a misunderstanding as the honourable Scuunthorpe chairman explained.

Nobody decent will sign until we have a permanent manager and a proper plan for future development in place. They would have to be stark raving mad!

Another reason I don't get the anti-Quashie brigade. Yes he has had some injury issues but he is only 31 and has a lot of experience in top two leagues not to mention die hard R. If he wasn't an R I doubt he would be interested. Hope he joins.

As for Folan not fussed. Personally have written off this season and would rather see Balanta and possibly German get some proper first team time and also see if Vine can get anywhere near his old form and if Hogan can stake a claim. Would like to see Vine played deep as that is where he always looked best when given space to run at defenders. As an out and out striker just doesn't seem anywhere near as effective although it could simply be his injury has taken his edge away a bit like with Gallen.

I would even get rid of Tarbie to allow Hogan, Balanta, Vine more action. Tarbie is not the future of QPR and we need to give some time to those that are ours to see if they can do a job for us longer term.
