Probably rubbish, I take all rumours with a lorry full of salt lately.

But it would make a pleasant change to see us take a look at someone other than a player not wanted by a Prem team.

Someone on the rise, someone who is hungry, and would see a move to QPR as his big chance of making the step up.
It works both ways, I know... but we seem to follow the same path when going for players lately.

Your right Goddard, we need to sign clubs better players, not clubs rejects.

And if money is tight.. fine.

But that means we can't take players from Prem teams on big wages, so maybe we should cast our eyes a bit wider, and look at players from a lower level who are too good for that level?
Cox and Beckford are expensive examples of that, Simeon Jackson not so expensive... but I'm sure there's a young full back or striker out there who we could go for, and "sell the dream" to. Maybe the scouting improvements could help with that?
        Wolves did it very well.

Symes played against us in the Carling Cup and was excellent. Skilful, good off-the-ball movement and posed a threat in the air. Scored Stanley's consolation goal.

The question, of course, is whether he would make an impact in the Championship....

            Its a risk, no doubt.

But I'd rather take a risk on a young lad like that on 2-3k a week, than some has-been journeyman on 10-15k.

Give a lad who's hungry a chance, not someone who's best years are behind him and is coming for a big pay check.

Wasn't this the article that said that Roy Keene, manager of QPR was looking at these players. Probably isn't even us interested.

Symes looks like a very good player...wouldn't mind if we took a chance with him.

We hardly ever do that any more
