  • Does size of attendance actually mean anything?

Historically Newcastle and Leeds have massive attendances but teams like Stoke, Hull, Burnley, Blackburn or Bolton don't.

So does size of attendance actually mean anything?

It matters as it makes the club a better prospect for investers.

We have good backing, but we may not always.

The reason that Man City got lucky is that they have a big, new stadium and great support. Newcatsle are one of only 3 clubs in top 2 divs not in debt and will bounce back - they have just been badly managed.

Of the top of my head only club with great support that has failed to attract top buyers is Everton...I think that is because they have a dilapiudated victorian stadium.

Attendence did not matter to Monaco for a while...but it is a key part of a football clubs future now days.

Not the case in the Premier League. Bizarrely.
