To be fair, I honestly did not remember him playing at Charlton. Record books show he did, but my recollection of the day, was many fans saying he would be sold to Charlton and that led to alot of debate in the loos before the game and at half-time

As for failed medical?/ Sky sports cover alot of stories and they simply say

The Bolton Wanderers striker had originally agreed to join QPR last week, but the deal was held up for several days.

Why could this not be contractual talks? My recollection of events was that Bolton pay premiership wages and we needed to find a medium.
as for official events, I'm guessing you need to check the official web-site and not SKY or a QPR-Report pasting.

So, trying to remember what I heard at the time.

I think it was along the lines of, racked up for medical, they found "something"...not too sure what I'm no expert but, obviously something that caused concern. And thus he'd failed the medical.

Then and I'm a bit hazy at the specific wordings but, for whatever reason we then gave him a more in-depth medical. A second chance as such to pass it?

It was decided that there was a risk of him breaking down or of him getting niggles but, that might be worth the risk? Then I heard at a later point from a different source that he took a pay drop to sign for us.

So I dont know the ins and outs but I heard the above from some pretty reliable sources at the time. Hence, I didn't want him signing...I saw no point in buying him and then he breaks down a week later.

Obviously all the above is pure speculation but my understanding was that he deffo failed the first medica

My take on this story is that until you reopened the can of worms the story had died down and didn't need reopening. Yes there are people who want to know the facts but they would no doubt prefer nothing is sad than a new thread started which doesn't from the start relay the "facts". As you've just said in this post aboove that we should wait for the official web site to confirm information and not other sources, which is right but maybe you should take your own advice and not try to convince people that what you are saying is fact. Why should the members of this board not believe professional journalists at Sky but should believe you?

In fairness on that point you should ask Sky who they call all the time to get info/interviews etc etc. I know my phone and two other peoples didnt stop ringing during "Sousa Gate" :(

lads, ( Just to add, my memory was wrong, it was actually the Watford game, where rumours were flying about he was going to CHarlton, not the boxing day game))

Don't know why these from SKY was not put in

In an interview in Icelandic newspaper he tells the story.

Was contacted by QPR in Malta where he was with the Icelandic team and offered a loan contarct ending 1.1.2009. And if he played played certain amount of games he would be signed permanently.

Arrived at practice on friday. 10 minutes before the practise he was handed a contract where final day of the loan period was 31.1.2009 not 1.1.2009 as had been talked about. HH could not accept 31.1.2009 because if he did that he could not go to another team in the transfer window if QPR would not sign him permanently. People at QPR said they would change the date. HH was told at the practice that he would start against Watford. After practice he got the same contract without date changes so he went back to Bolton. He would not sign for a team which were not keeping their words.

So the official site is wrong then, or was at least premature with the big story about signs on the 20th until 31st Jan.... Why has this not been changed to show the facts?

your making yourself look a little bit of a plum, like me !!

You wanted to know, about his "supposed" failed medical. I forgot the game admittedly, (mixed up with Watford and Charlton) made myself look a plum, now your doing the same. My recollection is, that we all complained about it at the time.

Quit while you ahead, you know it makes sense. QPR-report may try and influence you, but look at the facts. Plus, I'll add, he signed, so no real problem.

                      What!!!

QPR-Report has nothing to do with me, like you I have an opinion and would like to get to the bottom of what actually happened.

Would be nice if the club could actually get things right for a change.

If he arrived on Friday, why is the story stating he had signed dated the day before?

                        Seem to remember??

Has I got the mix up with Charlton and Watford, you'll have to bear with me.

                        Think it went like this.

Official site announce deal..20th November 2008

That is what led to alot of talk at the Watford game, as he was not in the 11. Big rumours he was signing for Charlton (by memory)

Came to light, it was regards to the contractual agreement, in regards to dates. Explained in the Icelandic press and probably over here.

                        That gets sorted.

Failed medicals is what some want to believe, but its not true. Hopefully now, we can move on. Unless of course you would like to continue the debate???:tired::tired:
