      I agree with that.

Why not try Balanta & Simpson/Helguson upfront.... can't be any worse?

I would like to see players like Balanta at least given a chance. If prospective youngsters feel they have no first team opportunities at QPR they will not sign for us. We have to at some point decide whether Balanta is good enough otherwise we are just wasting his time and ours.

And that opinion is based on what precisely? He hasn't played more than a handfull of minutes for us in the last 12 months but showed in his pre-season form that he had bulked up and developed into an exciting prospect.
At least watch him perform for a few weeks before writing off his career?

I did just that before pre-season and he proved me very wrong, I'd love to see some of that form he found, could work very well with Simpson upfront, both fast and could gel playing one two's.

Agreed, he did look useful pre-season. My only concern with your idea of playing him alongside Simpson is a lack of height between them. Although balls in behind opposition defences could pay dividends with their pace?

                          Totally agree!

I think the remainder of the seaon is an ideal time to give some of our youngsters a taste of first team action.

Exactly and as were playing the passing game on the floor we should give this a try at some point, what do we have to lose?
