  • Did you know...(about our strikers)

Patrick ageymang- games 337 goals 63 which is a goal every 5.34 games (49 games 14 goals for us, goal every 3.5 games)

Heidar Helguson - games 328 goals 101 which is a goal every 3.24 games (25 games inc. loan 6 goals which is a goal every 4.16 games)

Allessandro pellicori-games 205 goals 58 which is a goal every 3.53 games (6 games 0 goals for us which is a goal every 0 games)

Rowan vine- games 263 goals 57 goals which is a goal every 4.61 games ( 54 games for us inc. loan and 9 goals which is a goal every 6 games)

Since this is jay simpsons first season playing up front it would be unfair to use him but here is his record: 75 games 17 goals (21 games 10 goals for us)
which is a goal every 4.41 games (goal every 2.1 games for us)

So our top scorer in goals for games is:

    whilst playing for us:

    1. Jay simpson
    2. Patrick ageymang
    3. Heidar Helguson
    4. Rowan Vine
    5. Allessandro Pellicori

    overall

    1. Heidar Helguson
    2. Allesandro Pellicori
    3. Jay simpson ( even though 54 games he was used as a winger)
    4. Rowan Vine
    5. Patrick Ageymang

And our new target's record is:

Danny webber- games 196 goals 44 which is a goal every 4.45 games. But at watford 2002-2005 he played 56 games and scored 21 (which was the most prolific part of his career) he managed a goal every 2.66 games but more recently at sheffield utd (where he spent 114 games and scored 23 goals) he managed a goal every 4.95 games

Do you think webber would be an improvement to our non-prolific strikers? (although simpson is being played in his correct position this year and not on the wing so to call him non-goal scoring would be harsh) webbers record for sheffield utd is worse than disco daves for us

        Great stats QPR-Buz.

I'm not going to write Webber off before he's even kicked a ball but it looks like we are again choosing to go for quantity rather than quality. We don't need 5 players. Kitson plus a proper right back and we are a much better and balanced team.

spot on.. even if its a striker like kitson.. we dont need a striker like simpson in danny webber. wont change anything. - prolly move simpson to the wing.

Nugent will go to Burnley if Coyle stays.

I'd prefer Harewood than Webber but again he'll want Premiership wages. Just like Kamara would as would Kitson. Unfortunately we aren't prepared to except that you get what you pay for. We prefer to buy 4 or 5 okay players rather than one or two of a highly quality.

Jamie Ashdown is a good keeper but will no doubt be on more money than Heaton for just sitting on the bench.

                    You'd like to think so.

What has Webber actually done for Pompey under Hart which has made him want to sign him once again?

Surely we've had players score more goals than your 5th placed Pellicori with none (not counting the one at Exeter).
