Know him well do ya? No caulker fan but that's pure ignorant unless you know the man

So it was Ollie who talked him off the Moscow deal.....

“QPR and my agent tried to push me towards Lokomotiv Moscow in January, saying it would be a fresh start. Part of me thought the money they were offering could solve all my problems but why would being on my own out in Russia help? I had no idea how to break the cycle and being in Moscow while still injured just felt a recipe for disaster. The manager, Ian Holloway, was actually telling me to stay. I’d been in his office close to tears, so he said: ‘How anyone could think sending you there would be a good idea is beyond me. You need to get yourself right.’ I appreciated him for that but, for the club, I can see why it was appealing to be shot of me but I was in no fit state to move and eventually pulled the plug on it.“

Very sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you and your nearest and dearest.

I tried to commit suicide because of a few reasons but mainly the death
of my daughter and where and how she died.

In the case of Caulker he had a well paid priveledged occupation
and yes it can affect anyone,as you only know to well.
To my knowledge Caulker has not made any effort to get back to
a "normal life"and as such has just sponged off the club.

Got sympathy with anyone whos unwell, i just dont believe this bloke is.
Strange how he does the sierra leone trips and im depressed in the broad sheets just at the right times.
Going by all the things hes been arrested for as well, none of them seem the actions of an ill man, just a drunk big head with loads of plunder who thinks hes above the law.

Agree mate and reading Rebs response not an easy thread to read so huge respect to Rebs for engaging in it

On Caulker does he actually suffer with depression I thought it was the booze he suffered with?

Did you see the article Swede posted earlier in the thread Wests?

Steven Caulker: ‘I felt for large periods there was no light at the end of the tunnel’

The QPR defender talks movingly about his struggles with mental illness and addiction

                  Thu, Jun 29, 2017, 13:54 - Dominic Fifield

Steven Caulker has a tale to tell and, as hard as it is to hear, it is best simply to listen. His stream of consciousness veers from scoring on his England debut less than five years ago and the thrill at potential being realised to the horrific mental health issues that have almost ended it all in the period since. A player who, from the outside, appeared blessed with talent and opportunity speaks of desperate anxiety and self-loathing.

He contemplated killing himself in his darkest moments with his path one of self-destruction. Attempts at escapism cost him hundreds of thousands of pounds, wages frittered away in casinos. Then came the drinking aimed at numbing the pain. The 25-year-old finds himself recalling the times spent in custody watching CCTV footage of his misdemeanours, his lawyer at his side, and not recognising the vile person on the screen....

Thank you bill and sorry to hear about your problems, depression is one of the hardest to understand and difficult to treat illnesses there is. Iv no idea if SC is genuine or not, only he knows that for sure BUT the fact he publicly admitted it to the media must mean there is truth to it.I,like all R fans feel frustrated by the failure of this Ł8 million signing and his huge wages which along with other HR signings put us where we are now,Skint and (in my opinion )facing a relegation battle, but we all R fans, and together we will remain R fans, for better or for worse

No idea Kev. Just posted that in reply to Wests question.

Not sure why he'd do in-depth media interviews about his mental health issues and alcoholism if it was all a pack of lies though?...
