Think it was done on number of years, testimonials require a 10 year period at 1 club, Stan left us after 8 years i believe when he signed for Cloughie.

It was high time the club did something for ex-players and managers and TF and Hoos have, so try applauding them instead on setting up ForeverR's and this new funding structure.

I would of honestly thought you would of had a bit more affection for the club seeing as your kids were mascots jjb mate.
I presumed that sort of family participation adhered someone to the club even more if you know what i mean.

All Andy Sinton's work with Forever R's club. Why would they have done all that if they didn't care about our ex players? Why would they have promoted Dave Thomas' cause and help raise money for him if they didn't care? Ditto Stan Bowles' cause. And do you have any actual evidence to back up your claim?

If the club just said, right, THIS is the stan testimonial and Bournemouth are coming that would have been a much simpler and more direct message.

Its great that this is happening at all, but the word testimonial has more leverage. Just imo.

Looks to me like it's being sold as a game for Stan. The big headline of "Stan Bowles Benefit Match" is the giveaway....

    Agree with every word kit.

Some would rather have a testimonial which we couldn't have due to him not being with us long enough. Far better this way than one where a chunk of the proceeds get swallowed up in taxes etc.

Great news that we have started to do things for former players who haven't been paid millions.

Yes but let's be honest, the club were never going to please everyone were they.
