  • Had a chat with Charlie Austin last night

Had a chat with Charlie Austin last night in Chiswick and what a great down to earth guy he is who had loads of time for supporters in the pub

Asked him of course if he would be staying and perhaps got the standard footballers response and what he thought we wanted to hear but he said he was happy at QPR and it was an honour to play for us and he would like to stay but ultimately it was down to the club and agents and not him

depends if Les was being honest yesterday about the 20 mill fee. Because if he is a lot of the clubs who have been linked with him will buckle at that imo. Palace, soton, Newcastle imo won't pay that so would arguably leave clubs like Spurs or Liverpool who would potentially pay that sort of fee.

What pub did you see him in Paul out of interest?

If he wants to stay and club don't want to sell him, then what his agent can do about it? He can't force him to move, can he?

Agreed and of course it was the standard footballers response but he did seem genuine and time will tell of course

Down to agents? How comes the agent decides? Don't players have their say?

I think Charlie's reply was a bit diplomatic so he will definitely go. Can't blame him.

                    Caveats of Les' quotes

Obviously Les is going to say that the club don't want to sell him...

BUT you can understand the club considering offers above £15m (after the season he's had) when he's in the last year of his contract...

AND IF we were to have a replacement lined up.

                      if

if we get 20 million for him at least that somehow makes us feel a bit better, but dont forget when we sold les for 5
million it destroyed the club,we got relegated because the idiot ray wilins didnt buy any strikers who could help to
                      get the goals

SO ITS DIFFICULT IF WE SELL CHARLIE IS IT THE END OF THE CLUB

Not a fair comparison Ted because we sold Les whilst still a PL club, unlike now as an already relegated club. Plus Bitch Wilkins is now long gone

hopefully he will play football somewhere and not warm the bench like remy , bony , and ricky lambert . man city trebled bonys wages but surely these blokes should be at a club where they're going play . the problem being today is football has created the SWP's where a player can collect huge wages for doing very little

Bumped into him in Windsor last night - really nice down to earth geeza - even called me pal over at the bar and bought him a drink.
