        QPR are still in with a great chance of staying up given that a win tomorrow could lift them back up to 15th. there is only 3 points between QPR and Everton.

        I think the truth is the Board don't trust Redknapp to spend the money wisely hence their reluctance. This could be a huge mistake, because staying up is a lot easier to do in 2015 than it was in 2013, but the cost of relegation could be a disaster if the FL hit the club with a FFP fine.

        On the plus side, the wage bill next season should not be too high as some will be out of contract including SWP & Barton, whilst others like Sandro, Fer, Caulker & Mutch - if on big wages - can be sold or loaned out (yes, there will be interest in them).
