Also got a big fine coming if relegated back to the championship estimated around £40M under league FFP rules

Why on earth did we have the SEVENTH highest wage bill.

Tony & Amit didn't half get their drawers pulled down

Over £200m in that case if the worst happens, what a mess, some very well run clubs on that list, we need to headhunt some of the administrators from them.

It's a bad situation. A huge gamble by not spending now and have a huge possibility of getting relegated and then having to pay an enormous fine or spend a few quid on players that will make our battle slightly easier.

Signing players doesn't mean guaranteed safety but if we do good business then it's a free gamble. The signings of Samba and Remy a few years ago was good business. We made a transfer profit on both, around £5.5m. Obviously we would have given them both signing on fees, agent fees and the wages but the overall deal wouldn't have been bad business.

Cor dunno mate. Spent bundles on players for 5-6-7-8 million some more (Sandro) if papers are believed. Fees like that come with big wages.

Sandro takes home (after tax) £35.5k a week. One of the very few things in life I know as fact.

Agree, can't see it being much better if at all. The big earners signed back then are still here. Barton, Wright-Phillips, Hoilett and Taarabt between them are taking nearly a quarter of a million a week!

                          So assuming he's taxed 50% he's being paid £71k a week, ridiculous!

Possibly. Not sure how it works, I think these players have a basic of, say, £50k, but then their signing on fee is distributed across the length of their contract, plus appearance fees etc to build up to whatever it is they get paid in. Whatever way you put it, it's farking crazy that the bloke is taking that much money out of our club to get injured each week.

When HR said moving on the big earners the club had to pay them off, I dread to think how much we had to pay Samba to move him on?
