Why on earth Harry continue to play two central defenders as slow as Dunne/Caulker and add with them Hill, is beyond me. Our biggest problem is the defence. Adding to our pace less defence, we put two slow mid-fielders just in front of them! And that makes us the team with the worst defensive record in the Premier. Cannot understand Harry's logic in leaving Ned out of the team. He will make mistakes like the others, however, he is quicker and a better tackler. He adds speed to our back line, which seems to act in slow motion. Only Isla is near the speed required in the Premier.

Who is the answer then? Rio? Traore? Clint?

Rio in front of the defence. Or even Nedum in that postion.

The thing that annoys me was that Hill said at the time we were last in the ELP that he cannot play left back at this level so why are we playing him there? This true.

Whenever Nedum has played this season he has been an absolutely liability. What we're really missing is defensive midfielders who can support the defence and not leave our centre backs exposed every 5 minutes.

There is some truth in all of the comments above. We lack pace on defense and in our defensive midfield; best answer we have on the team right now, when healthy:

Green (was so-so today, but has been a season-long standout performer)
Yun and Isla on the wings; speed and aggressiveness
Dunne and a "rested" second CB (Caulker/Onouha/Rio) -- Traore is so lacking confidence now he should be benched/traded
Sandro (when healthy) and Barton defensive midfield; Henry okay but often a non-factor in games
Fer and Adel up the middle, backed up by Vargas (who's somewhat disappeared on us) and Krancjar; Mutch these days too much a no-show
Charlie and one other (Zarate/Zamora/Vargas) up front. We need more pace than Charlie and Bobby; love BZ but once the ball moves to front line no forward seems to be able to catch up with it.

Also believe you have to separate Nedum's performances between RB and CB; not effective on the wing, but aggressive in the center.

It's either Hill or Traore. So it has to be Hill.

                        Yun should be back soon

2 shocking options in the premier league tbh mate.

It's must be coaching. Look at palace for example, they have Delaney who was not good enough for us and a player they signed from the championship in scott dann and they look 10x better than us defensively.

Hill was okay at LB today. He's definitely worth his place in squad and does not disgrace himself when he has to come in due to injuries or whatever. After today's performance I'd drop Caulker though... Worst showing I've seen at CB since an Ernie Howe nightmare in the early 80s.
