...no one seems to have mentioned that save. A truly great save from arguably one of the best strikers currently in the world. Can you image the scenario if he'd scored on his debut....the already over the top ManU love in would have gone stratospheric. Well done Robbo for that at least.

Well done for that save, but the first goal was a joke.

Was straight at him to be fair. You would expect any keeper to save that. Falcao looked way off his brilliant best tbh. To be expected on a debut though.
Edit: Actually looking back at it done well to react quickly, still straight at him though.Last edited by Robsondinho; 16-09-2014, 03:13 PM.@chrisrobson9

Eh? I was shouting "Timber!" as he went down in slow-mo to deal with a fairly straightforward pot-shot from 35yds and then having finally got down to the shot he parried it straight to the feet of one of world's greatest strikers who ballsed it up by tamely shooting straight at him; can't see how Green should get any credit for it at all really.

As I have said on another thread though, the whole lot of em (bar 2 or 3) were $hit, it just seems certain individuals get the scapegoat treatment. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Agree Matty there were many that were poor, but the two that seem to be getting the most stick are the ones that have previously been praised for what in many eyes have been average performances. Green and Phillips being a point in case.
Green is often praised for his run of clean sheets and performance at wembley but in that run he didn't really make a save you wouldn't expect him to make, and as for wembley only made one save of any note and that pretty much hit at the near post, which if he had conceeded he would have been slated for. All the mistakes going back to our last prem season are all forgotten, but they were fairly regular, as they have been throughout his career.
Phillips shows the odd bit of potential but really has faltered to deceive, both as a striker and a winger. Odd goal mixed with air shots, poor delivery, lack of awareness and little end product.

Was way to slow to react for the second and third but had no chance for the fourth.
